Privacy policy
This policy explains what Windows Brampton collects through windowsbrampton.com, why, and who sees it. This draft is being reviewed by a lawyer before launch.
In short:
- We're a free referral service, not a government program. The quoting and the work are done by independent local pros.
- Your request goes to one pro who covers your address.
- We don't sell your details. Tips and offers need a separate box.
- You can see, correct or withdraw your information, or stop calls, at any time.

What we collect, and why we need it
Windows Brampton runs windowsbrampton.com, a free referral service for window, door and glass work in Brampton and nearby towns. Each pro we connect you with is an independent business. The federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) governs how we handle your information.
When you send a request or a message, we collect your name, phone number, email, job address and postal code; a description of the job and anything you add, such as which unit it's in, who will be home or a preferred language; any photos or files; and whether you ticked the optional marketing box, and when.
We use this to match your request with a pro who covers your address and does that work, to follow up if it goes quiet, to answer questions, to record your consent and to improve the site.
If you give someone else's details. When you send a request for a tenant's unit or a parent's home, tell that person first that a pro may contact them, and include them only if they agree.
Who we share it with, and your consent
- The independent pro we match you with receives your request, contact details, job address and photos so they can reach you and quote. They are then responsible for their copy under their own privacy obligations. If that pro can't take the job, we may pass it to another, one at a time.
- Companies that help us run the site, such as hosting, form, email, text and analytics providers, process information for us under contract. Some store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where authorities there may be able to access it.
- Authorities, where a law requires it, or to prevent fraud.
We don't sell personal information or give it to anyone for their own marketing.
Ticking the required box on the quote form is your consent to this sharing and to messages about your request. Under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), an inquiry gives only limited, time-bound permission to contact you (CRTC guidance), so we never treat it as permission for marketing. Every commercial email or text we send names us and includes an unsubscribe.
Your choices: access, correction, withdrawal and do-not-call
You can ask us to show you what we hold and who received it, correct it, stop using it, or delete it apart from records the law requires us to keep. You can also ask us to stop calling: we keep an internal do-not-call list and honour requests within the period the federal telemarketing rules set.
A pro who already has your request holds their own copy, so contact them too; we'll tell you which business it was. We'll respond within the period PIPEDA sets. Still unhappy with our response? You can take it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Cookies, analytics and retention
Cookies and similar tools keep forms working, screen out spam, count visits and show whether a search or ad led to a request. These may log your IP address, browser and device type. You can block or clear them in your browser, though the quote form may need some.
We keep request records only as long as we need them for the request, follow-up, consent records and legal duties, then delete them or remove what identifies you. Do-not-call requests are kept longer, as the rules require. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, PIPEDA requires us to notify you and report it, and we will.
Changes and how to reach us
A federal bill to replace PIPEDA was introduced in 2026 and had not passed when this draft was written. We'll post any change here with a new date. For privacy questions or requests, use the contact page and start with 'Privacy'. Our terms of use describe the referral service, and how it works explains what happens after you request a quote.
