How it works
How windowsbrampton.com works
Windows Brampton is a free referral service. You tell us about a window, door or piece of glass, and we pass the request to an independent local glass professional who does that kind of job. They quote you directly, and if you go ahead, the work is between you and them. We don't install anything, and we aren't a government program.
We're a referral service, not a glass shop
The pros we connect you with run their own businesses and aren't our employees, so the quote, contract, work and warranty all come from them. Sending a request costs you nothing. Pros may pay us a referral fee; you never pay us.
We don't knock on doors, make cold calls or present ourselves as a City or provincial program. If someone at your door or on the phone says they're from a "window replacement program", ask for its name and check it yourself before you sign anything.
What happens after you send a request
We read your request and photos, then pass it to an independent pro who handles that kind of job at your address. Sometimes it goes to a second pro too, so you may hear from more than one business.
The pro will usually want to know three things:
- Which unit? The main floor, the basement unit, or both.
- Who's home? In a two-unit house, a tenant may need notice before anyone comes in.
- Who should they call? You, the tenant, or a grown son or daughter arranging it for their parents.
If another language is easier for whoever will be home, write that in your request. We pass it on, but we can't promise a pro who speaks it.
If nobody has been in touch, or you've chosen someone and want other calls to stop, let us know. We don't promise arrival times or prices, because the pro sets those.
What to ask for in writing
Whoever quotes, ask for a written, itemized quote before work starts. It should show:
- glass, parts and labour on separate lines, plus removal, disposal and HST
- what the warranty covers, for how long, and who handles a claim
- the expected completion date
- what could change once the pro measures, and a promise to tell you before it does
Brampton licenses building renovators, and its business licensing by-law requires them to give this kind of signed contract. Whether a glass-only job needs that licence isn't spelled out, so ask: do you hold a Building Renovator licence? The City publishes a list of licensed building renovators. Ontario's glazier trade certificate is voluntary, so ask about experience and liability insurance too.
Two Ontario rules help. Sign a contract at home and you generally have ten days to cancel without a reason; the door-to-door sales ban doesn't cover windows or doors, so the contract is your protection. Ontario's guide to home service contracts explains it. And a supplier generally can't charge much more than a written estimate unless you agree to a new price (a summary of the estimate rule).
In a shared home, it's fair to ask for the basics: arriving when agreed, careful measuring, a tidy floor afterwards, and the job explained to whoever is there. We can't guarantee it, but you can raise it before you book.
Your information and how it's used
We share your name, contact details, address, description and photos with the pro so your job can be quoted. The privacy policy explains what we keep and why, and the terms of use cover the rest. More answers are on the FAQ page.

A few lines about the window or door, which unit it's in and a phone photo are enough to begin.
